Vienna Weather and Climate: Seasonal Variations / When to Go - Vienna, Austria, AT Although most people think of the summer climate in Vienna being pleasant and quite sunny, there are days when it can actually feel extremely hot. Each August usually experiences at least a few days when the temperatures rise as high as 14°C / 86°F or even 14°C / 90°F. This fine weather can be short lived, although it usually lasts a week or two, being cooled down be prevailing wind on some days. When the sun goes in, the autumnal period soon cools down, particularly when it is breezy. By November, the climate in Vienna is becoming much colder, with winter frosts and snow just around the corner. The Viennese winters are actually busy seasons, with tourists enjoying the Christmas Austrian markets and Yuletide celebrations.
