Employers need to know the competencies and abilities of employment seeking applicants from their own and other countries (not only within the EU) in order to make a common European labour market become real and in order to make informed decisions. Employees need to be confident that the qualifications they acquire are understood by employers not only in their own country but in the wider context of Europe and beyond.
This theme welcomes papers that deal with
- transparency and comparability of qualifications in physiotherapy in Europe, be they certificates, diplomas, first cycle degree's, Master-degrees, PhD's, clinical or professional doctorates,
- papers that link the challenge of autonomy to educational issues: What competencies and qualifications are needed for autonomy? How can education pave the way to professional autonomy? What experiences have been made where? What models are currently being tried out?
Learning outcome
- to have an understanding of the discussions about competencies in physiotherapy in Europe
- to be able to follow future discussions and decisions about education in connection with professional autonomy
- to be able to engage in “educated” and professional discussions in connection with professional autonomy
