Prof. Dr. Christian Grüneberg

Prof. Christian Grüneberg studied physiotherapy in Utrecht (graduated 1995) and human movement sciences (graduated in 1998) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He has been research associate at Nijmegen University (the Netherlands) and at Basel University (Switzerland) from 1998 -2003. His PhD thesis (2004) studied the effects of postural reactions to tilting supports during standing, walking and jumping. Prof. Christian Grüneberg has worked as an academic with teaching, administrative and research responsibilities at the Hochschule Fresenius from 2003 – 2009. In September 2009 he changed the university to take up the position of the director of the physiotherapy program at the University of Applied Sciences, Hochschule für Gesundheit in Bochum, Germany - the first publicly-funded institution for higher education of allied health professions situated at the Healthcare Campus North Rhine-Westphalia. He teaches neuromusculoskeletal examination and management, clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice. His current research interests are translating research evidence into practice and clinical education, especially physical activity and fraigility.
