Bringing the evidence into practice; linking science and practice in education

One of the great challenges in education is linking scientific knowledge, theoretical principles, research evidence  and practice. This applies to both the transfer of knowledge and the transfer of methods and practical skills. This theme explores experience in teaching clinical reasoning, the integration of evidence from research into clinical decision making and ultimately clinical practice.

Papers are welcome on the following topics:

  • learning and teaching methods,
  • the evaluation of CPD,
  • highlighting other facets of evidence based practice linked to educational issues, e.g. the ethical imperative of evidence based practice, implementation of guidelines in clinical practice,
  • highlighting the role of professional tutoring,
  • highlighting the role of leadership in bringing evidence into practice.
